The Shadow is an action-packed pinball machine from Bally and is based on the US-American action film after the radio and comic series The Shadow.
It's about Lamont Cranston, an outwardly rich and bored New York playboy. This becomes "Shadow" at night, a masked avenger with supernatural abilities. Because of his past, he fights for good and against evil. In New York a man named Shiwan Khan is about to rip a nuclear bomb under his nails. "Shadow" succeeds in saving the world from the atom bomb and defeating Shiwan Khan after a series of different fights with Shiwan Khan and in cooperation with Doctor Lane, the atom bomb builder.
Through "The Shadow" you feel yourself taken back to the mysterious, dangerous and romantic times of the 30s. The game of pinball is closely based on the events of the movie. A total of six scenes from the film appear on the dot matrix display.
The display also contains a video game in which the player has to avoid falling sabers.
The player has the opportunity to master the ultimate battle between Shadow and Shiwan Khan. Further highlights of the Flipper are the magnetic field, which freezes the balls, the retractable mini playing surface and dagger-shaped switches, as well as various multiball games.
