As if the pinball machine manufacturer Bally had guessed, in 1969 - the year of the first moon landing - he produced the pinball machine called Cosmos. Thematically, everything revolves around space, other planets and spaceships. The pinball machine was designed by Ted Zale and the artistic design is by Jerry K. Kelley.
The special thing about the Cosmos pinball machine is the animated baking glass. This is a real rarity with devices of the manufacturer Bally. In the baking glass there is a globe, which is surrounded by a black orbit. As soon as the player punches the ball in the upper left corner of the playing surface, a ball circles the earth in the baking glass. This animation is a real eye-catcher and lets the player dive into space.
Before the player can sink the ball, however, he has to reach the three planets Mars, Moon and Saturn with the respective spaceships. To do this, the player has to illuminate the planets on the playing field with targeted hits. In addition, the spaceships located on the lower half of the game board must be activated. This is done by rolling over buttons located below the spaceships. After the planet and the corresponding spaceship are ready, the player has to hole the sphere and orbit the earth.
A thrilling space adventure awaits up to four players. There are other planets to explore and the spaceship safely to steer the earth.
